Explosions and Attacks in Kharkiv: Russian Drones Disrupt City’s Calm Again

Chas Pravdy - 13 October 2025 03:18

On October 13, Kharkiv experienced a loud explosion, marking yet another episode in the ongoing escalation of armed conflicts in the region.

According to preliminary reports, Russian forces employed kamikaze drones to strike the city, resulting in significant damage and heightened panic among residents.

That night was characterized by a series of explosions occurring around 2 a.m., triggering a large-scale air raid alert that lasted nearly two hours — from 00:24 to 02:21.

Air force reports revealed that prior to the attack, at 1:31 a.m., drone activity was detected in the northern parts of Kharkiv region, heading southward.

Despite temporary calm, these attacks emphasize the high tension in the area.

The evening before, on October 12, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported several explosions in the city’s central districts, including the Shevchenkivskyi District, which shattered windows in two-story buildings and private homes.

Fortunately, official sources did not report casualties, but the situation remains tense after a Russian drone attack on a educational facility in Chuhuiv earlier that day, raising further concerns about regional safety.
