What Does the ‘Must Complete BZVP’ Status in the ‘Reserve+’ App Signify During Ukraine’s Martial Law
Ukraine is currently experiencing widespread mobilization and a state of martial law, which significantly impact the lives and military obligations of its citizens.
A new feature in this context is the appearance of the ‘Must Complete BZVP’ status in the ‘Reserve+’ mobile application, raising questions among reservists about their future during mobilization.
Legal expert and advocate Hennadii Kapralov explained that this status indicates the need to undergo Basic Military Training (BZVP), which typically lasts from one to three months.
This training is mandatory for students of military educational institutions, future police officers, and those entering civil service for the first time, including local government officials and prosecutors.
Voluntary participation is also possible.
BZVP includes modules where reservists acquire essential skills and knowledge for future service. If this status appears in the ‘Reserve+’ app, action should be taken depending on the individual’s situation.
If a person has already completed training but this is not reflected in the app, they should consult a qualified lawyer.
A lawyer can prepare a statement to the Military Commissariat (TCC) and Local Military Commissariat (SP), confirming that the individual completed BZVP, and attach supporting documents such as certificates, references from educational or military institutions, official orders, or other proof of training.Participation in BZVP can also be voluntary, especially for those with military specialties who have never served.
After completing the training, individuals are considered fully prepared for service in the reserve.
In case of mobilization, they may receive a summons to appear at the TCC and SP, and if deemed fit after medical-expert examination (LVC), they could be mobilized.
Another key status in the app is ‘Reserve Soldier,’ meaning the individual is in the Armed Forces reserve and can be called up during mobilization.
Such persons, unless they have valid deferments and are medically fit, can be mobilized or choose to sign a contract with the Armed Forces voluntarily.
