Ukrainian defenders secure their positions in Zaporizhzhia direction, achieving significant breakthrough in Mali Shcherbaki
The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported significant advances along the Zaporizhzhia front, particularly in the village of Mali Shcherbaki.
On Sunday, October 12, the press service of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion «Aidar» officially announced the liberation of this settlement from occupying forces.
According to their statement, Ukrainian troops, in cooperation with the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, raised the national flag over Mali Shcherbaki, confirming control over the area.
The message emphasizes that this success was made possible through coordinated efforts, high combat readiness, and determination of Ukrainian units.
It marks another important milestone in Ukraine’s ongoing defensive efforts, which continue daily despite risks and losses.
However, it is important to note that, according to DeepState map data, Mali Shcherbaki still remain under occupation.
Defense Forces South spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn confirmed in an interview with Suspilne that Ukrainian military conducted tactical operations to strengthen their position near this settlement.
He stated that the village remains under Ukrainian control, representing a strategic achievement in this sector.
