Russia Launches Large-Scale Missile and Drone Attack on Ukraine: Consequences and Defense Measures
On the night of October 12, Russian forces once again infiltrated Ukraine’s airspace, launching a massive attack involving 118 drones (UAVs) and guided aviation missiles, including the X-31.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, a number of enemy drones were successfully shot down — 113 of them were neutralized and suppressed, but some missiles still managed to hit their targets, damaging 10 locations and posing risks to local residents and infrastructure.
Reports of debris falling have not been confirmed.
The attack lasted several hours, keeping Ukrainian defenders on high alert.
It is known that as a result, air raid alarms were sounded in Kyiv and several other regions.
These actions demonstrate the ongoing aggression by Russia, which seeks to intensify pressure and destabilize the situation in Ukraine, despite Ukrainian defenses and international efforts toward ultimate victory.
