Passengers evacuated in Ivano-Frankivsk region due to false bomb threats on train

Chas Pravdy - 12 October 2025 19:19

A tense situation unfolded in the Ivano-Frankivsk region when a passenger train traveling between Chernivtsi and Zaporizhzhia was stopped following a false bomb alert.

The incident occurred at Burshyt station around 5:00 PM, when the train was forced to halt for a thorough inspection.

Explosive experts, working dogs, and other specialists arrived promptly at the scene.

They examined the train cars both externally and internally, and no hazardous devices were found.

After completing the check, the train resumed its regular schedule, and passengers were evacuated to safe areas.

This case was part of a series of false reports that have become more frequent in the region, including earlier that day when law enforcement received calls about bomb threats on three long-distance trains, including international and intercity routes, all of which were thoroughly checked without discovering any explosives.

Such alarming incidents increase tension and demand enhanced security measures and detailed investigations.
