US prepared to deploy military force against drug cartels: Washington’s new stance in the fight against international drug trafficking
In an unexpected move during a Security Council meeting, a US representative announced that the Donald Trump administration is ready to escalate military action against malicious drug cartels threatening American national security and regional stability.
John Kelly, a US delegation advisor, openly stated that Washington is prepared to use military force to dismantle organized criminal groups deemed the primary threat.
According to him, the US aims to halt flows of drugs, including cocaine and fentanyl, entering the country via Venezuela.
Additionally, the US officially designated the terroristic groups Tren de Aragua and the Cartel de Los Soles as terrorist organizations, emphasizing their involvement in drug trafficking and destabilization efforts.
Kelly highlighted that these cartels are armed, well-structured, and brutal, capable of paramilitary activities and causing significant destruction within the United States.
President Donald Trump reaffirmed the readiness of US forces to conduct military operations to safeguard citizens from these threats.
The US does not recognize Nicolas Maduro’s legitimacy as the President of Venezuela, labeling him the leader of a criminal narcoterrorist organization.
In August, Trump signed directives authorizing military actions against such groups, and in September, US forces reportedly eliminated terrorists associated with the Tren de Aragua cartel in Venezuela.
Intelligence indicates that these drug organizations continue their activities despite surveillance, and eliminating them remains the most effective solution to this widespread crisis.
