Ukrainian Marine Infantry Destroys Enemy Artillery, Securing Herson and Reducing Civilian Risks
Ukrainian naval infantry units have demonstrated remarkable skill and tactical agility over the past four days, successfully destroying several enemy artillery systems used by Russian forces to shell the city of Kherson.
According to Alexander Zavtonov, spokesperson for the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated four artillery pieces and wounded or neutralized over 80 Russian invaders.
Between October 7 and 10, the Russian army conducted 38 artillery strikes across Kherson region, with the greatest damage inflicted on the regional capital.
Zavtonov emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers avoid positioning artillery in residential areas, unlike Russian forces who actively employ such tactics in temporarily occupied territories.
Ukrainian troops are equipped with modern counter-measures to deter terrorist and sabotage attacks, aiming to protect the city and eliminate the enemy’s personnel, weapons, and equipment.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces have intensified offensive operations near the Antonivskyi Bridge and have tried to advance around Velykyi Vilkhovyi and Nestriga islands.
Sergey Bratchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, stated that Russian forces currently lack sufficient resources for a large-scale offensive on the Dnipro islands, providing hope for stabilization and further strengthening of Ukrainian positions.
