Ukrainian Air Defense Shows 74% Effectiveness but Faces Growing Challenges
Over the past month, Ukrainian air defenses have demonstrated a significant effectiveness level of approximately 74%.
However, this figure remains insufficient for full coverage of critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, logistics hubs, and other strategic targets, especially given the increased activity of the enemy.
Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a working meeting, emphasized: ‘We face new tests ahead.
Over the last month, the enemy increased their air attack tools by 1.3 times.
Considering this situation, we need to exert additional efforts to protect rear energy supplies and logistical chains.’ He also reported successes in implementing the DeepStrike program, which has reduced the number of strikes on Russian territory.
Last month alone, 70 strikes were recorded, including a 21% reduction in oil processing in Russia.
Meanwhile, new units are being formed—unmanned aerial defense systems within the Air Forces—and the assault forces system is being improved.
Furthermore, a new Cyberforce command is being established to enhance cyber capabilities.
Syrskyi noted that Russian losses in September amounted to approximately 28,500 personnel.
Additionally, on October 11, the enemy launched a drone attack involving 78 UAVs, of which 54 were shot down or suppressed by Ukrainian Air Forces.
