Tragic Aftermath of Enemy Shelling in Kostiantynivka: Two-Year-Old Son of Priest Found Among Ruins
Following a devastating attack by Russian forces on a church in Kostiantynivka last week, a two-year-old boy, the son of a local priest, was discovered amidst the rubble.
This surprising revelation underscores the scale of destruction and human loss brought about by the ongoing conflict.
According to Vadym Filashkin, head of Donetsk region, the scene revealed not only the fatalities but also the resilience of a young child who survived in the burning city with her father.
Her mother had died the previous week in an enemy strike.
Police reports indicate that the attack, using “FAB-250” bombs, resulted in the deaths of two adult men aged 49 and 56 years, while four others—two women and two men—were wounded.
The youngest injured person, the child, has been evacuated to Kramatorsk and remains in severe condition with a traumatic arm amputation.
Regional authorities emphasized that evacuating families with children from Kostiantynivka is crucial for saving lives, as remaining close to the front line is highly irresponsible.
Evacuations began this summer in 2024 amid continuous threats and destruction.
Previously, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the Ioan Pochayivsky Orthodox Church in the city, killing two and injuring four others, highlighting the ongoing devastation and human toll of the conflict in the Donbas region.
