Three Ukrainian trains halted due to false bomb threat, railway services disrupted

Chas Pravdy - 11 October 2025 13:21

On Saturday, October 11, Ukrainian railways faced a serious incident when they received reports of bomb threats against three passenger trains simultaneously.

The affected trains included №748 Ternopil — Kyiv, №68/20 Kyiv — Warsaw, and №733 Dnipro — Kyiv.

Upon receiving these notifications, railway staff were forced to stop the trains immediately, evacuate passengers, and move them to a safe distance.

Specialized explosive detection teams promptly inspected each train, thoroughly checking the carriages.

Fortunately, no explosive devices were found, and the movement of the trains was quickly resumed.

The delays caused by this incident lasted less than an hour, minimally affecting the schedule.

This event highlights the increasing tensions on Ukraine’s railway network, further complicated by ongoing military conflicts in the east.

Recently, Russian forces damaged railway infrastructure near Konoоп, complicating passenger transit in the region.

Now, trains are running on adjusted routes through Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts to circumvent damaged sections of the railway, ensuring continued connectivity despite the ongoing threats.
