Russian Occupants’ Assaults on Konstyantynivka: Battles, Losses, and Strategic Goals

Chas Pravdy - 11 October 2025 11:25

On October 9, amid persistent rainy weather, Russian forces attempted a mechanized assault towards the city of Konstyantynivka in the Donetsk region.

The enemy troops deployed heavy armored vehicles to push forward, but Ukrainian defenders mounted intense counterattacks that successfully halted their advance.

Units from the ‘Phoenix’ border detachment of the ‘Revenge’ brigade, along with other forces, managed to stop the Russian military’s progress deep in their own lines, according to the Third Border Detachment named after Ukrainian Hero Colonel Yevhen Pikus on their social media.

By the morning of October 11, reports indicated that Ukrainian FPV drone operators had targeted and destroyed several pieces of enemy military equipment.

Despite these efforts, the Russians failed to seize any territory on Ukrainian soil.

Data collected by military sources show the Russian army lost ten armored vehicles, one MT-LB, four tanks, and the same number of infantry fighting vehicles (BMP-3).

Currently, Russian troops are attempting to form so-called ‘pincers’ around Konstyantynivka and Sloviansk, aiming to tighten their grip on the region.

Former commander of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade ‘Azov’, Bohdan ‘Tavr’ Krotevych, emphasized that Konstyantynivka remains in a semi-encircled state, with Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups actively infiltrating the city to destabilize the situation and expand their control over the region.
