Russian drones cause chaos in Odessa and other regions of Ukraine: destruction and human casualties
On the night of Saturday, October 11, Russian occupation forces launched a large-scale kamikaze drone attack across Ukraine, targeting the port city of Odessa among other places.
The strike resulted in severe damage to energy infrastructure and three residential buildings in the regional center.
Emergency services reported rescuing two people from burning buildings, but one individual was wounded and is currently receiving medical care.
Energy workers are actively engaged in restoring damaged power networks to reconnect millions of residents.
Additionally, a three-story hotel and restaurant complex was damaged in the attack, with the building suffering significant destruction.Furthermore, Ukrainian defense forces report shooting down 54 of the 78 launched drones during what they call an ‘air battle.’ The attacks targeted not only Odessa but also other strategic facilities across the country.
Meanwhile, in Chernihiv region, an attack by UAVs on an energy unit resulted in the death of two workers and injuries to three others.
The injured have been hospitalized, and the regional energy infrastructure is under protection with urgent measures underway to stabilize it.This night once again demonstrated the ongoing active hostilities and the brutality used by the occupiers to weaken Ukraine.
The country continues to bolster its defenses to counteract these attacks and maintain stability despite the ongoing conflict.
