Russia intensifies propaganda campaigns in occupied Donetsk regions

Chas Pravdy - 11 October 2025 01:21

The Russian authorities are taking another step in their strategy to escalate information propaganda in occupied Ukrainian territories, particularly in the Donetsk region, which has been under pro-Russian control for an extended period.

According to the National Resistance Center, a group of six so-called ‘cultural workers’ from Russia is scheduled to be deployed to the region with the mission of ‘reviving cultural life’ in destroyed cities.

However, their real goal is far more insidious: promoting Russian culture and erasing Ukrainian identities, creating a positive image of Russia while discrediting Ukrainian sovereignty.

Each of these participants, promised two million rubles, will be sent from Siberia, Saratov Region, and Krasnodar Krai.

Experts analyze that under the guise of cultural initiatives, Russia propagates destructive narratives aimed at destroying Ukrainian national identity, especially among youth and local residents.

Additionally, the center emphasizes that conditions for people in temporarily occupied territories remain catastrophic—lacking water, heat, and proper medical care—and Russia ruthlessly exploits this situation to expand its influence through propaganda funding and supporting collaborationists.

Previous reports indicated continued Kremlin funding of social projects aimed at fostering pro-Russian ideology among youth in the Kherson region, thereby consolidating occupation authorities and spreading the ‘Russian world.’ This is another phase of Russia’s strategic campaign to destabilize Ukraine and undermine its territorial integrity.
