Night Assault Storm: Ukrainian Air Defenses Fail to Fully Stop Russian Drones

Chas Pravdy - 11 October 2025 09:18

On the night of October 10-11, Ukrainian air defense systems once again found themselves at the center of intense aerial combat as the enemy launched a large-scale drone attack.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, over 78 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including the notorious Shahed, Heron, and various other drone types, were attempted from directions such as Orel, Millerovo, Kursk (Russia), as well as from Crimea, through temporarily occupied territories.

This was one of the most significant strikes in recent months.

Despite efforts by air defense and drone detection systems, approximately 54 UAVs were intercepted or suppressed, especially over northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.

However, the threat of damage remains — by morning, at least six locations were confirmed to have been hit, resulting in infrastructure damage.

Several enemy drones still remain airborne, posing ongoing danger.

Ukrainian Air Forces urge citizens to strictly observe safety rules and heed air raid signals.
