New Opportunities for Ukraine’s Defenders: Who Can Become Veteran Support Specialists and How to Join This Vital Work
Since the full-scale invasion by Russia into Ukraine began, thousands of men and women have shown incredible courage and bravery in defending their country.
Today, Ukraine not only needs soldiers on the frontline but also specialists capable of supporting our heroes in peacetime.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs has announced an open recruitment for positions of veteran support specialists and demobilized individuals.
These roles are crucial in helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life, find new employment, and access essential social and psychological assistance.
Many Ukrainians are already aware that over 1.3 million citizens hold the status of combat participants, and a modern system of support is being developed for them.
The selection process is open to all willing candidates who meet the basic requirements: Ukrainian citizenship, education not lower than a bachelor’s degree in fields such as pedagogy, law, social work, healthcare, or public administration.
The main goal is to involve veterans and veteran women, as well as defenders who have prior experience or special merits in the defense sphere, in this support system.
The primary responsibilities of the specialist include informing veterans and their families about their rights, social guarantees, and opportunities, assisting with employment, rehabilitation, medical, and legal issues, and providing crisis psychological support.
It is also important to note that these specialists are trusted to work within local community institutions, municipal enterprises, or organizations under local government jurisdiction.
Candidates are expected to undergo specialized training and testing.
Those who pass all stages will have the opportunity to work full-time and earn approximately 21,600 UAH.
This is a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to the rehabilitation and support of veterans, while gaining valuable professional experience and career growth in this vital field.
