Heavy rains that recently hit Mexico have led to widespread natural disasters across the country.

According to the latest reports, the death toll has risen to at least 27, with several others missing amid landslides and flooding.

The storms caused significant damage, including power outages, overflowing rivers, and widespread flooding in multiple states.

The most affected regions are Hidalgo and Puebla, where authorities report 16 and nine fatalities respectively, and over a thousand homes and hundreds of schools have been damaged.

Governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta, stated that at least nine people have died due to landslides and natural emergencies, while five remain missing.

Authorities in Veracruz also confirmed two fatalities.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that emergency services are actively engaged in evacuations, road clearance, and restoring electricity.

She shared images of rescue teams navigating flooded streets to deliver humanitarian aid.

The Defense Ministry has deployed over 5,400 personnel to assist in monitoring the situation, evacuating residents, and clearing affected areas.

Meanwhile, hurricanes Raymond and Prescilla continue to bring heavy rains to the Baja California peninsula and the west coast, complicating the situation further and posing additional risks to local populations.
