Founder of «Ukraїner» Bohdan Logvinenko joins the front lines to fight for Ukraine
Bohdan Logvinenko, a well-known Ukrainian journalist and founder of the popular media project «Ukraїner», has made a significant and courageous decision — he is joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He personally announced his decision via his Facebook page, emphasizing that although he had the legal right to defer military service due to family circumstances, his patriotic impulse and inner conviction prevailed.
Over the past two years, Logvinenko had been preparing for military service and had arranged with the «Ukraїner» team to find his replacement.
Having completed his basic training and sworn allegiance, he will serve as a driver in a military unit.
He urged Ukrainians not to underestimate the potential of volunteer efforts and stressed that a new approach is needed to work with this potential effectively.
Despite having grounds for deferment, he chose to stand shoulder to shoulder with his fellow Ukrainians, highlighting that it is emotionally more difficult to remain civilian during this critical time but that national duty outweighs personal comfort.
Bohdan Logvinenko, born in Kyiv in 1988, is a prominent public figure, journalist, and TV host.
He founded an online publication and Ukrainian-language blog community «Sumno?» in 2005.
His career includes managing the renowned rock band «Mertvyi Piven» and hosting original programs on national TV.
An avid traveler, Logvinenko journeyed across Western Europe, Ural, and Siberia via hitchhiking, documenting his adventures in blogs.
Later, he lived in Southeast Asia.
In 2016, he launched the «Ukraїner» project, aimed at conducting anthropological and ethnographic expeditions to tell stories from all corners of Ukraine.
His decision to enlist is a testament to his patriotism and commitment to the country’s defense and sovereignty.
