Complete Restoration of Electricity Supply in Kyiv Region Following Major Russian Attack

Chas Pravdy - 11 October 2025 01:33

Following a massive missile strike carried out by Russia yesterday, the Kyiv region has managed to swiftly restore electricity supply to the majority of its residents.

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KOVA), today the entire region’s power grid has been fully reactivated, with all 110,000 subscribers who were left without electricity after the intense attack receiving power once again.

This achievement was made possible by the coordinated efforts of energy workers, rescue teams, and municipal services, who promptly secured the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities.

Notably, vital objects such as hospitals, water treatment plants, and essential enterprises were quickly transitioned to backup power sources, preventing severe disruptions in service.

The region’s primary objectives—maintaining stability and safety—are actively being pursued, and energy specialists call on residents to conserve electricity.

Even after restoring power at homes and institutions, it is crucial to use resources wisely: avoid turning on all appliances at once and switch off unused devices to help prevent overloads in the system.

Kyiv’s regional authorities also emphasize the importance of having charged power banks, backup water supplies, and necessary charging devices to ensure uninterrupted operation during future challenges.

All these measures are critical to maintaining system resilience irrespective of ongoing threats.

Earlier, DTEK confirmed the restoration of electricity on the Kyiv’s left bank, stating, ‘We continue working tirelessly to restore power in every household.’ Despite the attacks, Kyiv region demonstrates resilience and organization in its ongoing efforts to rebuild and secure its energy supply system.
