Enhancing Energy Security: New Measures for Protecting Critical Infrastructure

Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, recently conducted an inspection of the country’s key energy facilities that were damaged during large-scale attacks by Russian forces.
She tasked experts with developing and implementing new mechanisms to strengthen the physical security of energy infrastructure, including power plants and substations.
According to the minister, priority remains on improving engineering defenses, enhancing anti-aircraft measures, and increasing reserve equipment stocks for rapid response to potential emergencies.
Hrynchuk emphasized ongoing collaboration with international partners to elevate the safety standards of the energy system and protect critical assets from future threats.
