Ukrainian National Team Unveils New Kit with Deep Historical Significance
The Ukrainian national football team has introduced its new home jersey, which stands as a powerful symbol of national pride and cultural heritage.
The official statement from the Ukrainian Football Association notes that this kit was manufactured by adidas and carries a profound historical meaning.
The design of the new uniform is inspired by the emblem of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, crafted by the renowned artist Vasyl Krychevskyi in 1918.
The emblem features the trident—symbol of Prince Volodymyr the Great—surrounded by an olive wreath, representing peace and a desire for prosperity.
According to adidas representatives, the modern graphic interpretation of the ornament emphasizes the continuity of Ukrainian culture across generations, as well as the resilience, dignity, and aspiration for freedom of the Ukrainian people.
In this new kit, the national team will play upcoming qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against France and Iceland on November 13 and 16, respectively.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian player recently scored an impressive goal in the Italian league, showcasing his skill.
It is also noteworthy that Serhiy Rebrov previously announced the final roster of players for these crucial qualification matches, aiming to secure Ukraine’s spot at the upcoming world championship.
