In an exciting milestone within European club football history, London’s Arsenal once again captured the sporting community’s attention by setting a record for the youngest debutant in UEFA Champions League history.

Midfielder Max Douman, only 15 years and 308 days old, made his first appearance in the continent’s premier club tournament during an away match against Czech side Slavia Prague in early November.

This event not only highlights the talent and potential of the young player but also reflects Arsenal’s ambition to broaden their horizons and trust in young stars.

The previous record was held by German forward Youssoufa Moukoko, who debuted in the Champions League for Borussia Dortmund in 2020 at 16 years and 18 days.

The third place belongs to Barcelona’s prodigy Lamine Yamal, who played in the tournament for the first time at the age of 16 years and 68 days in the 2023/24 season.

Notably, the youngest Ukrainian player to appear in the Champions League is Artem Stepanov, who debuted for Bayer Leverkusen at 17 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

In the match between Arsenal and Slavia, the London team secured a decisive 3-0 victory, marking their best start since the 1969/70 season, with four consecutive wins and no goals conceded.

This remarkable beginning underscores the team’s strong potential and hints at significant successes ahead for this promising young talent in Europe’s most prestigious tournament.
