Oleksandr Usyk Plans Ring Return in 2026 and Chooses Next Opponent
One of the most renowned Ukrainian boxers of today, the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, is preparing for his return to the professional ring after a lengthy hiatus.
According to leading sports insiders, his upcoming fight might take place as early as the first half of 2026.
Sources state that the Ukrainian’s next opponent is likely to be the winner of the upcoming bout between WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker and WBA interim titleholder Fabio Wardley, scheduled for October 25.
Joseph Parker, with 36 wins—including 24 by knockout—and three losses, is looking to bounce back after some unsuccessful campaigns.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Fabio Wardley, who recently knocked out Australian Justin Huni in June, has an undefeated record of 19 wins with 18 knockouts and one draw.
Recall that Usik’s last fight was in London on July 19, where he delivered a spectacular knockout in the fifth round against British contender Daniel Dubois.
This bout was a rematch, and once again, the advantage was on the side of the Ukrainian, who for the third time became the undisputed world champion.
Fans are eagerly awaiting his next victories and continued stellar career.
It is also known that Usyk recently suffered an injury that temporarily kept him from training, and his name was included in the list of the wealthiest boxers in history, boasting significant earnings and broad popularity.
