Ukrainian Artistic Gymnasts Achieve Global Victory, Surpassing Russian Competitors
The achievements of Ukrainian sports continue to shine on the international stage, as Ukrainian gymnasts from the “Deruigini School” team secured first place at the prestigious Aeon Cup World Club Championship held in Tokyo, Japan.
This event marked a significant milestone in Ukrainian artistic gymnastics, highlighting the country’s rising prominence in the sport.
The competition featured teams from Ukraine, Russia, and the USA.
The Ukrainian delegation included dancers Taissia Onoprіychuk, Polina Karika, and junior Любов Горащенко.
Taissia Onoprіychuk became the all-around champion, showcasing exceptional consistency and charisma in her routines.
Polina Karika finished fifth in the adult all-around category, while Любов Горащенко ranked fifth among juniors.
The Ukrainian team accumulated a total of 326.150 points, outperforming the Russian team from the Kabayeva Academy, led by Alina Kabayeva — the mother of Vladimir Putin’s sons — which scored 324.100 points.
The USA team finished third with 319.350 points.
This remarkable success not only affirms Ukraine’s competitive strength in artistic gymnastics but also underscores the high level of training and dedication of Ukrainian athletes on the world stage.
Previously, Taissia Onoprіychuk was crowned the absolute European champion in rhythmic gymnastics, further confirming the country’s excellence in this sport.
