Shakhtar Secures Crucial Victory in Conference League Against Scottish Aberdeen

The Donetsk football club Shakhtar recorded an important victory in the first match of this new season of the Conference League, defeating the Scottish club Aberdeen with a tense score of 3:2 on their home turf.
The match, held in Scotland, proved to be a real test for both teams, but it was the ‘miners’ who emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle.
As early as the eighth minute, the hosts earned a penalty kick, which was converted by team captain Carlson, opening the scoring.
Unexpectedly for everyone, by the end of the first half, Nazaryna equalized with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
In the second half, Shakhtar displayed true fighting spirit: within five minutes, they scored two goals — Lucas Ferreira headed in one, and Pedro Enrique scored his first career goal with a powerful shot into the bottom corner, establishing the final score of 3:1.
However, the Scots did not give up and, thanks to Devlin’s efforts, reduced the deficit to 3:2, initiating aggressive flank attacks and pressure.
The tense finish kept fans on edge, but Shakhtar managed to hold their lead and secure an important win.
Goal scorers were: Carlson in the 8th (penalty), Devlin in the 69th, Nazaryna in the 39th, Lucas in the 54th, and Pedro Enrique in the 59th minute.
The team also received several warnings — Carlson, Lazetic, Heltn Nilsen, and Devlin.
The next Conference League match for Shakhtar will be on October 23rd, with a predominantly home game against Polish side Legia.
The team is now highly motivated, aiming to advance from the group stage and continue fighting for the tournament’s main title.
Recently, it was reported that Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar will face each other in the round of 16 of the Ukrainian Cup, adding extra excitement for Ukrainian football fans.
