Serhii Rebrov Announced Updated Squad for October 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

The head coach of the Ukrainian national football team, Serhii Rebrov, has officially announced the squad for the crucial matches in the qualification round for the 2026 World Cup.

As part of preparations for October fixtures, the team is gathering to fight for tickets to the global tournament scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Notably, Oleksandr Zinchenko is absent due to injury, and Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will not participate.The main squad features prominent players, including goalkeepers: Georgiy Bushchan (Polissya), Anatolii Trubin (Benfica), Dmytro Riznyk (Shakhtar).

Defensive line is reinforced by Ilya Zabarniy (Paris Saint-Germain), Yukhym Konoplia, and others.

Midfielders such as Yehor Yarmolyuk (Brentford), Mykola Shaparenko (Dynamo Kyiv), Nazar Voloshyn, and several more with experience in European leagues are included.

The squad also lists forwards Artem Dovbyk (Roma) and Vladyslav Vanat (Girona).

Ukraine’s qualification campaign has faced setbacks: a 0-2 loss to France and a surprising 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan.

The upcoming matches are scheduled for October 10 and 13 against Iceland and Azerbaijan, respectively.

The Ukrainian Football Federation continues monitoring the qualification process, which will influence the future of head coach Serhii Rebrov and the country’s chances to reach the world stage in 2026.
