Ukraine’s Youth National Team Shows Steady Performance at the 2025 World Cup in Chile

At the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Chile, the Ukrainian U-20 football team achieved an important draw in the second group game, marking a significant step towards advancing further in the tournament.
The Ukrainian young athletes played a tense match against Panama, which ended in a 1:1 draw.
Gennadiy Sinchuk scored the opening goal from a penalty kick in the sixth minute, boosting Ukrainian fans and giving the team an early psychological edge.
However, in the second half, the opponents challenged fiercely, and Gustavo Herrera equalized the score in the 36th minute.
Both teams engaged in intense struggles, creating an atmosphere of tense confrontation, yet no winner was determined.
This draw brought Ukraine to 4 points in the group standings, and they are preparing for the final game against Paraguay.
Previously, Ukraine secured a commanding 2:1 victory over South Korea.
The group stage concludes with one more match scheduled for October 3, which will decide the qualifiers for the Round of 16 along with the group leaders and the best two third-place teams.
This is Ukraine’s fifth participation in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, having previously won the tournament in 2019 under the leadership of Oleksandr Petrakov in Poland.
