Renowned Ukrainian footballer Viktor Kovalenko signs with Cypriot club Aris

Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Kovalenko has taken a significant step forward in his football career by signing with one of Cyprus’s leading clubs, Aris Limassol.
This news has attracted attention within the football community, as the 29-year-old player, who previously played for Shakhtar Donetsk for several years, now has an opportunity to showcase his skills on the European stage.
Kovalenko signed a contract until summer 2027, reflecting confidence in his experience and talent.
Aris finished second in the Cypriot championship last season, with the well-known Russian forward Alexander Kokorin serving as team captain—an athlete who previously played for the Russian national team and has been competing in European clubs since 2021.
This transfer’s announcement excites Ukrainian fans, especially since Kovalenko played for Shakhtar for seven years, winning the Ukrainian championship and earning 33 caps for the national team.
In 2021, he transferred to Italy’s Atalanta, followed by loan spells at Spezia and Empoli.
After the end of last season, he became a free agent and was clubless for some time.
Such a move opens new opportunities for the Ukrainian footballer and underscores the active participation of Ukrainian players in European football, inspiring fans and professionals to follow his promising career evolution.
