Ukraine for the first time in history breaks into the top five of the world’s best women’s tennis teams

The remarkable breakthrough of the Ukrainian women’s tennis team has become a major surprise for sports enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
In the updated international ranking compiled based on performances in the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup, the Ukrainian athletes made an incredible leap forward, climbing from 11th to 5th place, thus becoming the top-ranked team globally among women’s national tennis teams.
This is the first time in Ukrainian women’s tennis history that our team has entered the top five, marking a significant milestone for national sports.According to the latest ranking update, Italy holds the first position with 1435 points, followed by the USA with 1246.25 points, slightly ahead of Great Britain in third with 1215 points.
Ukraine earned 1035 points, rising to fifth place with a 6-point increase compared to the previous ranking period.This achievement confirms the success of Ukraine’s women’s tennis team, which debuted in the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup this year.
On their way to the final, the team defeated Spain 2-0 in the quarterfinals but lost to Italy 1-2 in the semifinals.
Italy, in turn, defended its title and remains the top team in the world.The Ukrainian squad includes global tennis stars Elena Svitolina, Marta Kostiuk, Yulia Starodubtseva, Ludmila Kichenok, and Nadiya Kichenok.
