Kyiv’s Dynamo considers selling Romanian newcomer due to pro-Russian social media posts

Kyiv’s football powerhouse Dynamo is seriously contemplating the sale of one of its recent signings—Romanian footballer Vladislav Blănceu—during the winter transfer window.
The reason for this potential move stems from his controversial social media posts, which sparked outrage among fans, especially those opposed to pro-Russian sentiments.
According to Romanian media sources, club management has already contacted the team’s former head coach, renowned in the region Mircea Lucescu, who has experience with Ukrainian and Romanian clubs, informing him of their intentions.
They also tasked Lucescu with speaking to Blănceu to clarify his behavior and explain what exactly has caused the controversy, aiming to avoid further conflicts.
The club hopes to recoup at least part of the investment, which is estimated to be around 2 million euros paid to Universitatea Craiova for the 23-year-old player.
Reports indicate that the player had shared reposts of videos featuring Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov and other propaganda content.
Later, Blănceu issued an official video statement in Ukrainian, expressing pride in playing for Ukraine and wishing the country victory in the ongoing war.
Despite his words and actions, Dynamo fans—ultras—were not persuaded, and they organized a protest, throwing petrol vapors onto the team’s bench.
The club’s management is expected to decide further steps shortly, aiming to protect its reputation and maintain emotional stability within the team.
