The Ukrainian State Railways, Ukrzaliznytsia, officially announced that a number of train services are experiencing delays caused by recent events in the southeastern part of the country.

According to the company’s press service, these disruptions resulted from a destructive shelling incident in the Kirovohrad region, which damaged critical railway infrastructure, including tracks, power lines, and other essential facilities.

Currently, five popular train routes are affected: No.

54 Odessa — Dnipro, No.

254 Odessa — Kryvyi Rih, No.

51 Odessa — Zaporizhzhia, No.

128 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia, and No.

92 Odessa — Kramatorsk.

The railway authorities urged passengers to stay informed by regularly checking updated departure times on official sources, as the situation remains fluid.

Despite the inconvenience, Ukrzaliznytsia apologized to travelers and appealed for understanding during this emergency.

Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration head Andriy Raykovych also reported that infrastructure damage occurred again due to shelling, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded promptly to contain the fire caused by the attack.

This incident follows a massive drone attack on September 17, aimed at disabling Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, especially power substations serving rail lines.

The attack was intended to obstruct freight and passenger transport and to exert additional pressure on the civilian population and economy.

During that assault, over twenty trains were halted along their routes, yet no injuries were sustained among passengers or railway staff.

To ensure continuous service, over twenty backup diesel locomotives were deployed, demonstrating the railway’s preparedness to rapidly respond to such emergencies.
