In an exciting Serie A match of the third round, an unexpected hero emerged — 40-year-old Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić, making his debut for AC Milan and proving his skill on the pitch.

At the 61st minute, he received a pass in the center of the penalty box and with a precise touch, he beat the goalkeeper, leading Milan to a 1:0 victory.

This was his first goal for the club after transferring from Real Madrid.

Notably, Modrić’s goal made him the oldest scorer in Serie A history, surpassing Nils Liedholm, who scored for Inter in 1961 at the age of 38.

The match video highlights are now available for viewing.

Having played for Real Madrid since 2012, Modrić earned 28 trophies with the club, including four La Liga titles and six Champions League victories.

Over his career at Real, he appeared in 597 matches, netted 43 goals, and provided 88 assists.

After leaving Real Madrid, he played for Dinamo Zagreb and Tottenham Hotspur.

In 2018, he won the Ballon d’Or and secured third place at the FIFA World Cup with the Croatian national team.
