Train Service Disruptions in Kyiv Region Due to Rail Infrastructure Damage
In the Kyiv region, significant damage to railway infrastructure has led to major disruptions in the operation of commuter and regional trains.
Delays and cancellations of several train services have affected thousands of passengers planning to travel by rail.
According to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), the damage has impacted key routes such as Kyiv – Fastiv, Kyiv – Myronivka, and Kyiv – Korosten.
As a result, a number of trains, including No.
6001, 6005, 6007 Kyiv – Fastiv; No.
6003 Kyiv – Khotyn; No.
6009, 6702 Kyiv – Myronivka; No.
6041 Kyiv – Vasylkiv-Center, have been temporarily canceled.
Additionally, some train routes have been limited or rerouted; for example, train No.
895 Khotyn – Fastiv now runs only to Kyiv, and train No.
892 Fastiv – Slavutych has received a Kyiv – Slavutych route.
These disruptions have caused inconvenience among travelers and prompted immediate action from railway authorities.
Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia had warned of possible delays and route changes due to infrastructure damages near Kyiv, especially around Boyarka station.
Officials also reported an emergency incident in the Fastiv district, which resulted in damage to railway tracks and associated infrastructure.
Three women were injured in the incident and received medical assistance.
This situation highlights the importance of railway safety and infrastructure maintenance, vital for the country’s transportation network.
Authorities continue working to repair the damage and restore normal train operations.
