Kyiv Regional State Administration Responds to Extensive Railway Infrastructure Damage in Fastiv District After Emergency Incident
A major incident in Fastiv district, Kyiv region, resulted in significant damage to railway infrastructure, disrupting passenger transport and train schedules across the area.
Officials overseeing the region admitted that the incident triggered an emergency response from railway and local authorities, as the damaged railway network posed a serious obstacle to safe and efficient passenger movement.
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of Kyiv OVA, stated that specialized teams are actively working to restore the affected infrastructure.
Three women injured during the incident received medical treatment and are in stable condition.
Authorities have implemented alternative routes and transportation options to ensure passenger distribution before and after reaching destinations.
For example, passengers of train №73 Kharkiv – Przemyśl were provided with buses to Kyiv; others continued their journey on modified train routes.
Kalashnyk emphasized that repair crews are working tirelessly to complete restoration shortly, minimizing delays.
Additionally, a temporary schedule for suburban trains to and from Boyarka has been introduced to prevent morning congestion and delays.
Recovery efforts are ongoing, and officials reassured that normal train operations will resume soon.
