Following the exhilarating fight in London where Oleksandr Usyk confidently knocked out Daniel Dubois, securing all major titles in his weight class, his former promoter and long-time mentor Alexander Krasuk has issued a surprising yet pointed recommendation — to conclude his professional career.
Krasuk expressed the opinion that now might be the ideal moment for the boxer to step back and reassess his future, emphasizing that Usik has achieved extraordinary heights and deserves to end his career on top.
"In my view, Oleksandr should take a step back and consider retiring since he has accomplished so much and has every reason to finish his career at the peak," Krasuk said in an interview.
It’s worth noting that in this fight, Usyk secured his third career undisputed championship, becoming a two-time world champion in the super heavyweight division and holder of all the major titles — WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO.
The bout against Dubois was decisive, with all the biggest world titles at stake, and the Ukrainian boxer showcased not only technical prowess but also formidable resilience.
Krasuk, who previously served as Usyk's promoter for many years, ended his cooperation with the boxer this June, which sparked widespread discussion in sports circles.
This advice from an experienced manager undoubtedly sparks debates about Ukraine’s boxing future and Usyk’s next steps, but one thing is clear — this fight marked a significant milestone in his athletic career.
