Trump openly accuses Putin of inability to resolve Ukraine conflict and urges assistance
Former U.S.
President Donald Trump made a sensational statement regarding his recent phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, highlighting that Moscow is still unable to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
According to Trump, Putin allegedly approached him asking for help to end the war that Russia has been engaged in for over a year.
During his speech at the American Business Forum in Miami, the former White House chief revealed that the conversations took place about two weeks ago, with Putin confessing that attempts to resolve the conflict over the past ten years had been unsuccessful.
Trump added that he was able to resolve some of these complex issues within just an hour of negotiations but chose not to disclose specific details.
He also criticized the United Nations for its supposed inaction in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and other international crises, emphasizing that he had halted these wars after returning to power in January 2025.
The background to this was Trump’s last call with Putin on October 16, during which Moscow warned the U.S.
about the potential consequences of supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles, particularly Tomahawk missiles, which could worsen Russian-American relations.
Following the call, Trump stated that now is not the best time to introduce new sanctions against Russia to avoid further deteriorating relations with President Vladimir Putin.
