Back-to-School Package: Final Call to Submit Applications Before Deadline
In Ukraine, a social support program called ‘Back-to-School Package’ is actively operating to assist parents of future first-graders.
This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families preparing their children for school.
According to the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) in Luhansk region, there is still an opportunity to apply for aid this year.
The deadline for submission is November 15, 2025, giving parents a few more months to complete the necessary paperwork.
What is the ‘Back-to-School Package’? It is a one-time financial assistance of 5,000 hryvnias per child, intended for children entering school in the 2025 academic year.
If a family has two first-graders, each will receive their own support.
Parents or legal guardians can submit applications, provided the child is studying on Ukraine-controlled territory.
Children temporarily abroad or on occupied territories will be eligible only after returning home.
How to apply? Documents can be submitted electronically via the ‘Diia’ app or in paper form at the PFU service centers.
The online process involves several steps: accessing the ‘Services’ section, selecting ‘Government Assistance’ and ‘Back-to-School Package,’ choosing the child, entering banking details, and signing the application with ‘Diia.Sign.’ Paper applications require personal submission, including documents such as a passport, tax identification number, proof of legal authority, and other necessary papers like birth certificates or marriage certificates if electronic verification isn’t possible.
Funds can only be spent on purchasing school supplies, clothing, and footwear at stores or entrepreneurs with the appropriate activity codes.
The use of funds must occur within 180 days of receipt.
The Pension Fund emphasizes that timely submission of the application is essential to ensure children receive the support they need to start school fully equipped.
