Ukrzaliznytsia Introduces Free 3000 km Travel Program to Boost Off-Peak Tourism

Chas Pravdy - 02 November 2025 00:17

The Ukrainian railways company, Ukrzaliznytsia, has announced the launch of a new initiative offering free trips up to 3,000 kilometers within Ukraine.

This program aims to encourage domestic travel, especially during off-peak periods when passenger flow is lower, thereby alleviating congestion on popular routes.

According to representatives, 3,000 km corresponds to the longest round-trip route in Ukraine, enabling any citizen to visit any part of the country, regardless of their starting point.

Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia noted that this initiative helps to decongest busy seasons when tickets are hard to obtain.

The program is part of a broader systemic effort, supported by government funding to ensure the stability and development of the passenger transportation sector.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this plan on November 1, emphasizing its significance for domestic tourism and national economic growth.
