Zelensky Announces New Winter Support Programs for Ukrainians

Chas Pravdy - 01 November 2025 16:27

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the launch of comprehensive nationwide support initiatives designed to assist Ukrainian citizens during the winter season.

According to his statement, by November 15, the government must develop a set of measures that will begin to be implemented as early as December.

These measures include financial aid similar to that provided last year, as well as targeted assistance for the most vulnerable groups — single seniors, large families, and residents of conflict zones.

Details of these programs remain unclear at this stage, but Zelensky assured that they are aimed at maintaining stability and supporting the population.

In his address, he emphasized the importance of keeping gas and electricity prices fixed.

Additionally, the president introduced a new initiative for free train travel within Ukraine — a project by Ukrzaliznytsia called ‘UZ-3000’, which will allow Ukrainians to travel up to three thousand kilometers across major cities such as Lviv, Kyiv, and Dnipro without any charges.

The government is currently working out the logistics of this program, as the state continues to support domestic passenger transportation with the goal of providing effective and accessible services.

Furthermore, medical programs will be expanded — the Ministry of Health is preparing a project for regular health check-ups (called ‘check-ups’), expected to be launched in January.

This initiative aims to help adult Ukrainians pay more attention to their health and preventive care, ultimately promoting a healthier society.
