Ukraine introduces new automatic deferment options for single parents during mobilization via “Reserv+”
Amid ongoing general mobilization and martial law in Ukraine, the government and the Ministry of Defense are actively working to protect the rights of conscripted citizens.
A significant development is the introduction of an automatic deferment feature in the mobile application “Reserv+” for parents who are raising children alone.
This function allows parents who care for children under 18 and whose other parent has passed away or lost parental rights to quickly and easily request a deferment from conscription.
The process is fully automated, requiring only the submission of a request through the app, after which the system verifies data in official registries.
If the criteria are met, the deferment is granted automatically, and the information is reflected in the user’s military record.
To ensure successful application, up-to-date information about the child and the status of the other parent must be present in the civil registry.
If this data is missing, parents are advised to visit any local Civil Registry Office (DRACTS) with the relevant documents.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that this initiative significantly simplifies the process for single parents, enabling them to focus on raising their children without bureaucratic barriers during mobilization efforts.
