Royal Scandal: Prince Andrew Stripped of Titles Amid Epstein Controversy
In a significant move by the British royal family, Prince Andrew, the brother of King Charles III, has officially been stripped of his titles and honors amid mounting allegations linked to the notorious American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes against minors.
According to an official statement from Buckingham Palace, the royal family decided to annul all of Prince Andrew’s titles, and he will now be recognized as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
This decision reflects a conscious effort to distance the monarchy from the scandal and restore public trust.
The prince will also be required to vacate his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Notably, despite his denials, the move comes after revelations that Prince Andrew attended private gatherings at his Windsor residence with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein during Princess Beatrice’s 18th birthday celebration in 2006.
Epstein, who took his own life in 2019 while incarcerated, was at the center of damaging allegations involving trafficking minors.
The case also revives questions surrounding the prince’s alleged involvement in abusive activities during his youth, especially after victim Virginia Giuffre’s tragic death in April 2025.
The scandal continues to challenge the monarchy’s reputation, prompting calls for reform and greater accountability within the institution.
