Chas Pravdy - 29 October 2025 16:54

U.S.

Vice President Joel Vince shared his insights regarding the incident with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that took place in the Oval Office on February 28.

He described this confrontation as the most recognizable moment of his political career, yet noted that more than eight months have passed since then, and the relations between the U.S.

and Ukraine have significantly improved.

According to Vince, he was irritated at the time due to perceived rudeness from the Ukrainian leader, emphasizing the importance of respecting the rules of the house during official meetings.

The vice president highlighted that the U.S.

strives to maintain constructive dialogue with both Ukraine and Russia to help end the full-scale war.

He also mentioned that President Donald Trump maintains good contacts with all involved parties and is working to prevent escalation.

Vince warned that if Russia refuses meaningful negotiations to cease the conflict, it would be a severe blow to the country.

He expressed optimism about making progress toward peace but refrained from making predictions about the war’s future development.

The tense moments surrounding the February 28 meeting at the White House, where Trump hosted Zelensky, became the subject of intense discussion.

Trump criticized Ukraine for lacking respect, claiming Zelensky disrespects the U.S.

and him personally, and accused Ukraine of “playing with the third world,” leading to a tense exchange.

The Ukrainian delegation left the White House without signing the scheduled agreement, marking another diplomatic challenge.
