Coordinated Diplomatic Pressure: Key to Stabilizing the Situation Surrounding Ukraine
Ukraine continues to advocate for increased international pressure on Russia to halt the armed conflict and achieve just peace.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanishyna, stated this in an interview with Fox News.
According to her, sanctions serve as a powerful mechanism to influence Russia, creating favorable conditions for ending the war and pursuing a political solution.
She emphasized that the current political environment provides opportunities for peace, especially through unexpected but strategically important diplomatic discussions, including visits by U.S.
officials to Asian countries.
The ambassador added that Ukraine’s stance remains open to dialogue and cooperation, highlighting the importance of global support in countering Russian aggression.
Stefanishyna highlighted that synchronized pressure from international partners—particularly sanctions and military aid—is vital for Ukraine’s resilience during this difficult period.
She pointed out that the war is not merely a bilateral conflict but a systemic aggression by Russia against democratic nations with open market economies.
She called on the world to remain united and to resist manipulation, noting that despite diplomatic efforts, bombs continue to fall and Ukrainian lives are lost.
Additionally, she mentioned that the U.S.
Senate has already approved three bipartisan bills: one recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, another aimed at unfreezing Russian assets, and a third imposing significant obstacles for China’s support of Kremlin’s military machinery.
This demonstrates a broad international consensus in supporting Ukraine and a desire to intensify pressure on the aggressor for a faster peace settlement.
