Deputy of Poltava City Council Concealed Over 200 Million Hryvnias in Cryptocurrency
Law enforcement agencies in Poltava have uncovered a local council deputy who secretly concealed a significant financial asset — cryptocurrencies valued at over 200 million hryvnias.
According to official sources from the Office of the Prosecutor General, the National Police, and the Security Service of Ukraine, the individual in question is Oleksandr Kalutskyi, a member of the Poltava City Council.
Between 2022 and 2024, he deliberately failed to declare his crypto holdings and related transactions, amounting to more than 200 million hryvnias.
In 2025, the suspect attempted to amend his financial reports to include some intangible assets and transactions, but the updated data was still inaccurate and unreliable.
Conducting searches with the approval of the prosecutors and security officials, authorities seized handwritten notes, receipts for currency operations, financial documents, bank cards, mobile phones, and other evidence pointing to the illicit origin of the assets.
The deputy has been notified of suspicion under Article 366-2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code for knowingly providing false information in his declarations.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are deciding on the preventive measure to be applied to the suspect.
