US prepares new wave of sanctions against Russia: Minister of Finance’s announcement
The US Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, recently announced an imminent significant step in imposing new sanctions against Russia.
According to him, a major push in measures against the Russian regime is expected in the near future, responding to their aggression towards Ukraine and violations of international norms.
This indicates that the US administration is preparing to tighten economic pressure on the Kremlin, aligning with Western efforts to isolate Russia further.
Previously, members of the US Senate supported three legislative initiatives, including designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, which could severely impact its international standing and access to global markets.
Additionally, representatives of the European Union finalized the approval of the 19th sanctions package against Russia, reaffirming the global community’s resolve to counter Russia’s aggression.
