Swedish Prime Minister Urges Global Pressure on Vladimir Putin to End the Ukraine War
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called on the international community to escalate pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to bring the war in Ukraine to an end sooner.
This significant appeal was made during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held in Sweden.
According to the Prime Minister, the current situation demands decisive actions and solidarity from European countries and the global community at large.
He emphasized that Sweden remains a highly cohesive nation supporting the Ukrainian people in their fight for independence and territorial integrity.
During the meeting and ahead of the upcoming European Council session in Brussels, scheduled for tomorrow, discussions will focus on further assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
Kyiv and Stockholm have signed an intent agreement to acquire 100-150 modern JAS 39 Gripen E fighter jets, marking an important step toward enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities starting next year.
President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine intends to operate at least 100 aircraft to aid in fighting the enemy and strengthening national security.
