The Importance of Preparing Ukrainian Businesses for Future State Procurement Processes

Chas Pravdy - 21 October 2025 08:23

In the context of Ukraine’s economic recovery and strengthening the role of business in this process, it is crucial to consider the recent survey results regarding entrepreneurs’ readiness to cooperate with the government in public procurement sectors.

According to Deputy Business Ombudswoman Tetyana Korotka, who oversees the recovery direction, less than half of Ukrainian and foreign companies intend to increase their involvement in government procurements in the future.

Specifically, only 43.5% of respondents expressed willingness to participate in such processes, while 36% have already collaborated with the state and do not wish to repeat this experience, and 20.5% are still undecided.

Additionally, over a third of participants reported negative experiences with government authorities over the past three years, which diminishes their willingness to continue cooperation.

The expert emphasized that the success of recovery and large-scale reforms depends directly on how well the business community and government prepare.

She noted that if Ukrainian companies start training and preparing now, the situation could improve.

Conversely, if no action is taken and current processes remain the same, outcomes might stay the same or worsen.

Therefore, it is essential to act promptly to prevent negative consequences in the future.
