Macron Calls for Ukraine’s Inclusion in Possible Trump and Putin Negotiations
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his belief that, should a meeting between U.S.
President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin take place, representatives from Ukraine and Europe should be invited to participate in these discussions.
He stated that such bilateral meetings could be a positive step toward resolving pressing international issues.
However, he emphasized that topics related to the war against Ukraine cannot be discussed without Ukraine itself, as the country is a key participant in the conflict.
Macron highlighted that Ukraine must be involved at the negotiation table, and for Europe’s security, neighboring countries should also be engaged.
Earlier reports indicated that EU circles considered the planned Trump-Putin meeting in Budapest to be a political failure and a significant diplomatic challenge.
