Suspicions of Illegal Declarations: Head of Odessa Regional Council and His Wife Announced as Suspects
In Odessa, amidst new corruption investigations, the chairman of the Odessa Regional Council has been formally suspected of involvement in false asset disclosures.
According to law enforcement sources, Gennadiy Didenko, the regional authority leader, along with his wife Yulia, who serves as a deputy in the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, is suspected of concealing assets and illegitimate income.
Investigators have established that the couple failed to declare property valued at over 8 million hryvnias, including two modern Audi SQ8 cars from 2021 and 2024 and luxurious apartments.
Furthermore, a lawsuit has been filed to recover over five million hryvnias in assets on behalf of the state, including vehicles and real estate.
Under the Ukrainian Criminal Code, the actions of the spouses have been classified under the article concerning submitting knowingly false information in declarations, and the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, suspicion was also announced against Vyshhorod Mayor Oleksiy Momota and others involved in embezzling more than 6.6 million hryvnias of public funds.
