How Veterans in Ukraine Can Easily and Quickly Obtain Utility Benefits
In Ukraine, every veteran or person with war-related disabilities has the right to receive utility discounts, reducing their expenses for housing and communal services.
However, many veterans face difficulties in obtaining these benefits due to complicated and lengthy procedures.
Fortunately, a simplified application process has been introduced, which greatly facilitates the procedure for receiving these benefits.
Let us explore in detail the steps necessary to quickly get registered for benefits and the required documents.
The Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) in the Transcarpathian region reports that war veterans—combatants, persons with war-related disabilities—can apply for benefits through a new streamlined process.
The key advantage is that the process is more automated, requiring less paperwork, as data collection is carried out via electronic data exchange between government registries.
To submit an application, a veteran needs to log into the official PFU web portal and authenticate using a qualified electronic signature.
Then, in their personal account, they should select the option “Application for housing subsidy or benefit” and review the instructions.
After that, they click “Continue” and choose “Application for registration as a war veteran and the provision of benefits under an experimental project.” Next, they fill out an online form, providing personal details, information about documents, bank details, and upload scanned copies of supporting documents if available.
Importantly, applicants must give consent for personal data processing, click “Generate application,” verify entered data, and sign and submit the application digitally.
The status of the application can be monitored in the section “My Requests.” This method significantly simplifies and speeds up the process of receiving benefits, which is particularly relevant for veterans, large families, and people with disabilities.
Additionally, the state continues to support veterans by offering discounts and benefits on utility services, encouraging their social adaptation and improving their overall well-being.
