Renowned Ukrainian football legend and current President of the Ukrainian Football Association, Andriy Shevchenko, has demonstrated his influence on the international football stage by securing a prominent position within FIFA.

Recently, Shevchenko was appointed as the head of FIFA’s Future of Football Committee, a decision reflecting his expertise and reputation worldwide.

His colleague, Kateryna Monzul, head of the UAF referees committee, became a member of FIFA’s Stakeholders Committee for Women’s Football.

Both appointments are valid for four years, from 2025 to 2029, highlighting Ukraine’s growing presence and recognition in global football governance.

Since being officially elected as UAF president last January, Shevchenko has cemented his status as one of the most influential figures in football.

His illustrious playing career includes stints at Dynamo Kyiv and AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title, the UEFA Champions League, and received the Ballon d’Or in 2004.

Meanwhile, Monzul, who assumed her role as head of UAF referees in February 2024, is known for her extensive experience refereeing top-tier Ukrainian matches.

Additionally, news emerged that Shevchenko’s son signed a professional contract with an English football club, illustrating his family’s continued influence in football.

However, Shevchenko faced a setback when he lost the election for the UEFA Executive Committee, marking a temporary challenge in his pursuit of influence within European football politics.
